Tahmoush was named All-New England Second Team while Whelan was selected to the All-New England Third Team. The team's starting rightfielder and lead-off hitter, Tahmoush enjoyed a spectacular junior campaign in which he hit .384 with 10 doubles, three triples, two homers, and 24 RBIs. He set a new school record with six hits in one game against Amherst on March 21, and he established a new single-season record with 18 stolen bases. In addition, his team-high 66 hits and 42 runs scored each ranked second among the program's single-season leaders. The righthanded-throwing, lefthanded-batting junior hit safely in 33 of the team's 39 games this spring, including a 14-game hitting streak from March 31 to April 14 that was the longest by a Babson player since 2003. His 88 total bases and .512 slugging percentage also led the team. With one season left to go, Tahmoush is currently tied for second on the program's all-time stolen base list with 34 career thefts. He was named to NEWMAC Player of the Week on April 16, and at the end of the year was selected to the All-Conference First Team for the first time in his career. Whelan also enjoyed a magnificent
junior season, going 7-2 with a 3.20 ERA. The hard-throwing
righthander started nine games and made one relief appearance,
giving up 59 hits and 21 earned runs while walking just six and
striking out 64 in 59.0 innings. He tossed three complete games,
including a one-hit shutout against Coast Guard on March 31, and
opponents batted just .252 against him. His seven victories were
the second most by a Babson pitcher in a single season behind
only Sam Kilpatrick's eight wins in 1996, and his 64 strikeouts
were third most in program history. Through three seasons,
Whelan is tied for second in career wins (16) while ranking
fifth in strikeouts (131) and seventh in ERA (3.21). Like
Tahmoush, he was selected as the NEWMAC Player of the Week
during the regular season (April 2) while also receiving
All-Conference First Team honors.
